Readings from la Francophonie

Chers Amis,
C’est la rentrée, that special time of year when many are returning from summer holidays and students are looking forward to going back to school. It is the time too when the Cercle français de Belfast presents its programme for the next twelve months. A copy of the programme is available at the tab above.
You will be pleased to see that for a number of our events we return to the Dark Horse Cafe.

The next meeting of the Cercle will take place on ….

… mercredi 14 septembre 2022 à 19h30 and will be online as a Zoom meeting

(The Zoom link will be sent to members and registered guests on the morning of the event)

Topic: Readings from La Francophonie

Chaired by  Patricia HARDIMAN

The first session of our new season is a celebration of La Francophonie.  Patricia chairs a panel of speakers as they present extracts of works by Francophone writers spoken in French and either translated or summarised in English.

Looking forward to seeing you on 14th September.

À bientôt, Philip

Secrets of upcoming Cercle programme

Can you keep a secret?

The Cercle's upcoming programme will be revealed shortly and it contains a couple of secrets.

It includes another Promenade en Blanc at a location that is only revealed a week or so before the event.
Last time our walk took us along the Maritime Mile in Belfast and we stopped for refreshments in front of the French-flagged SS Nomadic.  Next time?  That would be telling!

But we can tell you that our programme features another cercle de lecture and the book we will be discussing is Philippe Grimbert's Un Secret. It's available in French and English and has also been produced as a film. The book discussion is scheduled for early 2023 so plenty of time to check it out.

It's a busy schedule of core events and some surprise extra ones so when you get the programme, please don't keep it a secret:

Pass it on!
